Where the money goes

  • UmculoWethu keeps R1 of every R10, for both Fan of an artist and Pool Fan payments.
  • The card fee comes out of the other R9, and the rest is the artist's.
  • Our share pays for hosting, the domain, our team and running UmculoWethu.
  • Artists get a statement on the 1st of every month and an EFT by the 5th. Under R50 carries over to the next month.
  • No VAT is added: we are not VAT registered.
  • How the pool is shared: coming with the Pool Fan launch.

Questions

Do I pay before I see my site?
No. You see the whole preview first, and pay the R750 only once you've seen it.
Is there a monthly fee for artists?
No. Hosting and your domain's renewal are paid from our share, so there is nothing more to pay each month or each year.
Who registers my domain?
Our team does, and we pay for it. We polish your site with you before it goes live.
What is a founding artist?
The first 20 artists we accept pay nothing for their site. Send us a registration with some of your own original songs; our team listens and chooses. Signed or contracted artists may apply too, with songs they control.
Does it cost anything to join as a fan?
No. Joining UmculoWethu is free: every artist's pages, song previews and free songs, with no artist needed.
When can I become a Pool Fan or a Fan of an artist?
Both are opening soon. Join free now and you'll be among the first to hear.
